RhythmOne Agrees To Acquire YuMe For $185M

RhythmOne, a publicly traded ad-technology company based in London and San Francisco, Monday announced an agreement to acquire YuMe in a deal valued at $185 million.

RhythmOne said the offer provides one-third cash and two-thirds share capital to YuMe’s shareholders. YuMe is a programmatic digital video advertising platform that is also a publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The companies said the deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2018.

“The acquisition of YuMe perfectly aligns with the company’s mission to create a unified marketplace that is efficient and effective for advertisers,” RhythmOne Chairman Raj Chellaraj said in a statement, noting: “YuMe’s demand-side strengths and innovation in video advertising complement the programmatic platform that RhythmOne has built over the last three years.”
