Some Find New DNC Tagline Cheesy, Compare It To Papa John's

The Democratic National Committee got ridiculed and Papa John’s got a media bump when the DNC unveiled a new slogan late last week that some saw as a retread of the pizza chain’s tagline.

The party’s new slogan reportedly is “A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future,” which struck some observers as a direct lift of Papa John’s “Better Ingredients, Better Pizza, Papa John’s” long-running theme.

“Sound familiar? Dems ready to take on GOP in 2017 with new slogan that sounds a lot like Papa John’s,” Fox & Friends tweeted from its Twitter account, along with a video poking fun at the party’s new branding effort.

The comparison to Papa John’s is ironic, because the quick-serve pizza chain was the subject of a backlash when it’s founder and CEO John Schnatter came out in support of President Donald J. Trump earlier this year.
