Who Knew? Agencies Still Create Radio Ads! And Win Awards For Them!

You'd think with the entire marketing landscape moving online in the form of programmatic ad buying, performance marketing, video, content marketing, native advertising, social media marketing, email and, as well, mobile,  that there'd be any time left to focus on something as mundane as a radio ad. But, it seems, there is. The medium still works and creativity within the medium still exists.

So who's winning these awards? DeVito/Verdi, that's who. The agency was just named a finalist for five Radio Mercury Awards for spots it created for Mount Sinai Health System.

In naming its finalists for its June 1 ceremony, the Radio Mercury Awards narrowed the field down to a total of 117 radio ads and campaigns that will undergo a final round of judging by a panel of industry creative directors.

Of the nominations and the work, DeVito/Verdi President Ellis Verdi said, "The work that Mount Sinai does is an inspiration to everyone, and it has certainly inspired us to create some of the most memorable and moving commercials, not only in the healthcare category, but in all of advertising. We're honored to work with them for so many years, and we're thrilled that our work together is being recognized by one of the greatest industry award shows out there."
