Netflix Originals Maintains Dominant Share Of 'Expressed Demand'

With the backdrop of more premium video services set to launch, Netflix continues to have a dominant share of “demand” when it comes to original programming.

Parrot Analytics says Netflix original programming accounts for an industry-leading 58% of all “expressed demand” in the second quarter.

Amazon Prime Video and Hulu each have a 8.4% share, while DC Universe comes in at 5.4%, CBS All Access is at 5.1% and all others are at 14.2%.

Parrot Analytics tallies “demand expression” in an analysis of a number of platforms -- video streaming, social media, photo sharing, blogging and micro-blogging platforms, fan and critic rating platforms, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms.

Using artificial intelligence, Parrot produces a single weighted measure of demand called Demand Expressions.
