GCI, a communications firm based in Alaska, has upgraded its relationship with Synacor, adopting the Synacor's hosted email platform. As part of the multi-year agreement, GCI will also deploy Synacor’s Advanced Cloud ID to streamline the login process on TVs and mobile devices.

The package of services is designed to simplify the login experience in multiple channels, including WiFi, as well as mobile phones and tablets.

A user can sign into one app on any device, and that will log the person into all other supported apps from participating companies, Synacor says.

The firm adds that customers can access video content across devices without having to repeatedly enter passwords.

Synacor also offers managed portals, advertising solutions, email and collaboration platforms, video solutions and cloud-based identity management.

GCI provides data, wireless, video, voice, and managed services to consumers and businesses nationwide.
