'Forbes' Celebrates 100th Anniversary, Launches Snapchat Campaign To Reach Millennials

Forbes is launching a Snapchat campaign with a unique geofilter scavenger hunt. The goal is to reach mobile and millennial audiences and to celebrate 100 years since its first magazine issue.

The hunt, titled “Find Yourself on Forbes,” gives users the chance to see themselves on the cover of Forbes magazine with a Snapchat geofilter.

Every Friday, one location from around the world goes live, starting today. Forbes will drop hints about where the geofilter can be found and encourage users to find it and snap themselves using the filter and the hashtag #Forbesat100.

A new location branded filter will go live Friday through Sunday starting June 9 through September 15.

A promotional video showing how it works features a blonde woman seeing a post on Instagram, then heading to Brooklyn Bridge to snap herself using the filter, which reads “Forbes@100,” with a location pin underneath.

Forbes encourages users to direct message the snap to the brand on Snapchat or post it on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag. Submissions have the chance to be featured on Forbes' Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and site.

The magazine has a few other initiatives to celebrate its centennial, which falls on Sept. 15. A “Forbes@100” landing page went live yesterday, featuring a video message from Forbes Media CEO and executive chairman Mike Perlis in which he points out notable moments from the magazine over the years.

It is also introducing Social ImpactVoice, a new project that supports nonprofit organizations focused on strengthening communities and improving the world over the next 100 years.

Social ImpactVoice is part of BrandVoice, Forbes’ branded content platform.

Forbes is giving up to 25 nonprofits the opportunity to market content pro bono on Forbes.com, reaching nearly 50 million unique monthly visitors, as well as across its social-media properties. Social ImpactVoice will feature text, video or infographics.

Participating nonprofits include Dress For Success, The V Foundation for Cancer Research, God’s Love We Deliver, New York on Tech, imentor and Charity Water.

Posts from the nonprofits will roll out through mid-September.
