Digital Media Solutions Acquires Email Provider Mocade

Digital Media Solutions (DMS), a provider of acquisition solutions, has acquired email marketing vendor Mocade Media LLC. The terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2015, Mocade offers an email marketing platform that facilitates content creation and delivery and other elements of email programs, according to DMS.  

Mocade employees will now join DMS. They include co-founders Andrew Westmoreland and Joshua Seide and VP of operations Ellen Switzer.  

DMS, based in Clearwater, Florida, has 251 employees. New York-based Mocade has 10.

The acquisition gives DMS an in-house email capability and is part of its omnichannel strategy.  

“Email is one of the most effective ways to build and nurture customer relationships today,” says Fernando Borghese, chief operating officer of DMS. “Mocade will bring new, innovative capabilities to our digital marketing campaigns,” 

Borghese adds: “In the performance marketing industry, email is a unique and valuable platform as it’s now a mobile channel that brings one-to-one communications directly to the palms of a consumer.”

He continues that marketers are looking for “a highly orchestrated, cross-channel messaging strategy.”

DMS, founded in 2010, was named one of America's "Best Places to Work" this year by Inc. magazine.

Asked whether DMS is planning other acquisitions, Borghese notes that the company has experienced impressive growth. “Sometimes our growth comes via acquisition, which allows us to rapidly expand into complex and competitive verticals such as consumer finance, healthcare, education, careers, CPG, and jobs. Any transaction should align with our strategic plan, as well as our culture, to help us drive business growth."
