Reddit Taps Instagram Exec For First VP Business Marketing

Reddit has hired Timo Pelz as its first VP of business marketing to develop its strategy for advertising offerings across its more than 100,000 communities.

Pelz joined Facebook in 2013 to lead vertical sales and marketing. He has in recent years been serving as head of business marketing for Instagram, where he led global business marketing across business and advertising solutions, including Stories, Explore, Branded Content, Shopping, Reels and IGTV.

Pelz will oversee all aspects of business marketing for managed and self-serve advertising clients, including product messaging and events, and report to Reddit CMO Roxy Young.

Pelz will be “instrumental in elevating and driving Reddit’s unique value proposition for new and existing advertisers” as Reddit continues to scale its advertising business and expand to international markets, Young stated in announcing Pelz’s hire.
