L'Oreal China Taps Publicis For Media Planning And Buying, Cites 'Bespoke Agency Solution'

L’Oréal China has named Publicis Groupe its media planning and buying agency in China.

The assignment, which is a three-year contract, begins early this year.

The companies cited Publicis' creation of a "bespoke agency solution" -- OneL’Oréal -- utilizing data, "innovation" and technology as a rationale for winning the assignment, which includes media strategy, planning and buying across all media channels, including performance marketing.

"OneL’Oréal is set up to drive a purpose-driven operating model to ensure greater accountability, transparency and sustainability for L’Oréal, all in service of business growth," the companies said.

Billings were not disclosed, but Publicis characterized it as China's "biggest" 2020 pitch.

According to Comvergence estimates, the account billed $737 million in 2020.
