Media Kitchen Creates 'Chief Of Staff' Role, Taps BCW's Springer

The Media Kitchen is a full-service media agency known for its innovative approaches to managing media. Today it is announcing an innovative role for managing its own organization, naming industry veteran Laura Springer its Chief of Staff.

Springer, who will based at TMK’s New York headquarters, reporting to CEO Barry Lowenthal, joins from executive vice president at WPP public relations agency BCW Global (formerly Burson Cohn & Wolfe), and prior to that was a senior vice president at independent public relations agency Edelman.

The role, possibly a first of a major agency, isn’t simply an HR position, but is also a strategic job making Springer the hub for coordinating the agency’s talent across a team of group directors leading each client’s business, while also focusing on new business and organic growth.

“It’s also important to continue investing time and resources in protecting our culture, our values, and our talent and these programs are not getting all the attention they deserve,” TMK said in its job description posted on LinkedIn.
