Former Kantar Media Chief Kent Forms Advisory, Focus On Startups

Terry Kent, a veteran M&A expert in the media and advertising industries who most recently served as global CEO of the Ad Intelligence Business of WPP’s Kantar Media unit, has hung out his own shingle, launching the Kent Advisory Group.

Kent says the new firm will focus on assisting early stage and startup companies prepare and position for the “next stage of growth,” with an emphasis on business development and strategic planning necessary to attract financial institutions, partners and strategic investors.

Prior to running the ad intelligence operations of Kantar, Kent held a number of senior positions at predecessor companies including TNS Media and VNU, the latter of which he served as president, group president and chairman at.

As an original member of VNU’s acquisition and management team, he was heavily involved in the Nielsen Media Research acquisition and subsequent divestiture of ad intelligence unit Competitive Media Reporting (CMR).

Kent also co-founded Baltic Ventures LLC, to help advance global leadership in the media and marketing research sector. While with Baltic Ventures, he was also a personal investor and US CEO of Hippon, a “virtual agent” answer-engine software company.
