SellUP Acquires Email Agency Alchemy Worx

SellUP Inc., an email marketing company with offices in New York and Manila, has acquired Alchemy Worx, a global email marketing agency headquartered in London.

Terms were not disclosed. The purchase was self-financed, according to SellUp's CEO Allan Levy.

SellUP provides analytics-driven email services for online retailers and service companies.

Founded in 2001, Alchemy Worx supplies planning, design, copywriting, production, testing and analysis of email campaigns for international brands. In addition to London, it has offices in Atlanta, San Diego and Sydney.

Alchemy Worx will retain its brand identity and continue to serve its existing client base. It will benefit from SellUP’s in-house design, coding teams and data scientists, the companies said. Founder Dela Quist will continue to lead Alchemy Worx.

For its part, SellUP hopes to build relationships with “larger companies reaching beyond retail,” it said, and to further develop its technology.

“We like to leverage third-party cutting edge technology for our clients,” Levy said in an email. “We are a partner with  Persado, Movable Ink, Rebel Mail and others and can offer the use of these technologies without a minimum or integration cost. As far as internal technologies we are looking at building out data analytics software.”

The combined companies have just under 50 people on staff, and they have about 80 clients, Levy said.

Levy added: "We are very positive on email as a chance for sales and communication. It is still the No. 1 channel by far for online retail sales and the most efficient channel."
