Florida Senator Hit For Hurricane Relief Email

Florida Senator Bill Nelson faces criticism for sending an email in support of hurricane relief without disclosing that nonprofit groups he included in a list of aid-givers all linked to ActBlue, a Democratic fundraising group.

Nelson, a Democrat running for reelection against outgoing GOP Governor Chris Scott, sent the email on Wednesday, shortly after the devastating storm hit the Florida panhandle, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

The charge could not be independently verified. However, the Free Beacon says Nelson’s email described the groups as “vital resources for people who need help.”

The groups include the American Red Cross, Big Bend Homeless Coalition, Florida Disaster Fund, and Team Rubicon. Each has a link sending users to an ActBlue page asking people to contribute to storm relief, the story continues.
